What is a Google My Business page?

Before, we used to look in the paper business listing but today, we consult (maybe without knowing it) the Google My Business pages.
Google My Business (GMB) is a sort of web directory that lets you advertize your business locally.
Since 2014, Google offers at the top right of its results page, personalized cards intended to give more informations to visitors about their search query. It includes, among other things, the opening hours of the business, its location, its contact details and its website. The user can also interact with the company by posting photos, questions or giving ratings.

Who is Google My Business for?

Although Google wants to show in priority businesses with a physical address and a "storefront", any business, regardless of industry, can benefit from this service.
The only condition is that you are (from time to time) in direct contact with your customers at the given address ;)
